The Boston Bruins recalled Danton Heinen from Providence of the American Hockey League and signed fellow forward Ryan White to a professional tryout contract, the team announced Tuesday.

Heinen and White will join the team for Tuesday's skate and will travel with the Bruins (1-1-0) to Denver for Wednesday's game against the Colorado Avalanche (2-1-0).

The 22-year-old Heinen has notched an assist in one game with Providence this season. He appeared in eight NHL games last season with Boston, which selected him in the fourth round of the 2014 draft.

White split last season with the Arizona Coyotes and Minnesota Wild, collecting nine goals, seven assists and 84 penalty minutes in 65 games. The 29-year-old Manitoba native recorded career highs in goals (11), points (16) and penalty minutes (101) in 73 games with the Philadelphia Flyers in 2015-16.
