NEW YORK, U.S. - Twitter has hired an India-born former top executive from Facebook and Snap, Sriram Krishnan as its senior director of product.
Krishnan will be joining Twitter from October 2 and will reportedly be responsible for a lot of the core features inside the main app.
The core features internally referred to as "Bluebird," includes the timeline, direct messaging and search.
Confirming his appointment, Krishnan tweeted, "I'm going to be joining Twitter and become a part of #theflock to work with the fantastic product team there.”
Krishnan, who is a well-known product executive around Silicon Valley, has primarily focused on advertising technology.
Reports further revealed that now Krishnan is now taking on a consumer product role.
Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey tweeted on Monday night, "So... excited to have you Sriram! Welcome home.”
In February 2016, Krishnan left Facebook, where he led "Facebook Audience Network" to take on Google.
Krishnan then headed to Snapchat’s parent company Snap, where he help lead advertising efforts and quit Snap in February.
